Examples – Examples are examples of informal reasoning and acts of persuasive speech, not claim someone might disagree with, or an equivocation or abuse of language from commonsense. Arguments with suppressed premises and/or conclusions are certainly acceptable, so long as it is clear that there is an attempt at persuasion.

Examples should be presented with a short, descriptive sentence or two that provides information about the examples’ origin and background. It should not make evaluative judgments, nor attempt a taxonomic classification.  The example should be classified using the ‘Categories’ available in wordpress. The contributor of an example is responsible for supplying a proposed classification according to form of reasoning as well as discipline of origin, which will be reviewed as part of the review process.  All examples should be copyright free and in the public domain.

• All examples should have a ‘featured image’ that can be used as a thumbnail. In the lower right hand corner of the ‘Add New Post’ page, you’ll see a link for ‘Set Featured Image’.  You can upload a new image there, or select an image you’ve already uploaded from the media library. Click ‘Use this as featured image’ before clicking ‘Save all Changes.’
• Images should be uploaded as JPG using wordpress’s standard media upload functionality. Make sure you click ‘Insert into post’ before ‘Save all changes.’
• Video clips should be uploaded in MPG, MOV, or M4V format.  The multiplicity of devices today requires we process your video into a number of different formats, but that will be done within 24 hours of your upload.  Once the video is in the media library, use [video]PATH_TO_VIDEO[/video] in your post to include it. MAKE SURE to strip the file extension from the path – it will be changed during the processing anyway.
