Probably the most famous advertisment of all time: the first 30-second Mac advert shown during the Super Bowl in 1984. Die hard fans of the ad still claim that Apple only paid once to show it, and it was shown again and again on local TV channels, award shows and the like. In reality, Apple paid to show it at least twice - once on the Super Bowl, and once at something like 3 in the morning in Iowa, in order to qualify for the annual advertising awards. This scene is at the beginning of the third part of 2001. In it, HAL, the ship's computer, is being interviewed by a television reporter from the US. When questioned about his abilities, HAL boasts "Let me put it this way, Mr. Kramer. No 9000 computer has ever made a mistake or distorted information. We are, by any practical definitions of the words, foolproof and incapable of error."

In perhaps the most famous scene from Monty Python's most famous movie, a mob is lead through the basic reasoning of verificationism: first, consider the conditions of knowledge ("How do you know that she is a witch"), then produce a theory ("Witches burn"), deduce a prediction ("If she will burn, she is made of wood, therefore she'll float. And if she floats, then she's lighter than a duck.") Check to see if the prediction is confirmed, and burn away!
